Urban site and the HEAP trap

          • In the urban site, there is an import of nutrient rich substances, e.g. food, from a large area (see above).
          • The food remanants, i.e. urine and faeces, are not recycled, but put into the MIFSLA system.
          • Because of that, the nutrients are transported to the wastewater treatment plant.
          • Its production is fairly clean water and sludge.
          • The sludge is transported to a smaller area than the the food is produced from (see picture above)
          • Hence, a HEAP trap is produced
